Service and Power Upgrades and Relocation
Is the power supply to your home or business sufficient?
Power demands in a home or business has increased over the years. We now use more appliances, electronics, and lighting than in years past. This often makes it necessary to increase the size of the main electrical service, in order to increase power supply to the structure. If the main service cannot meet the power demands of the electrical circuits, it can cause a variety of serious problems:
- Lights flickering or dimming
- Circuit breakers tripping
- Damage to appliances or electronics
- Appliances and electronics have shorter life spans or fail to operate properly
- HVAC system damage or improper operation
- Damage to the electrical system components and wiring
NOTE: Overloaded/underpowered circuits present an increased fire risk. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms listed above, please contact us to have the loading on your system checked by one of our electrical professionals.
Which building projects could make it necessary to relocate my service?
- Building Additions
- Pool and Hot Tub Installations
- Outdoor Kitchens and Cabanas
- Storage Buildings
Due to structural or yard modifications, it may become necessary to relocate the main underground or overhead service wiring, meter base, riser, and electrical panel to another area of the home or business in order to comply with Local and National Electrical Code safety standards. Relocation may also be desired for cosmetic or functionality reasons.
NOTE: Main service relocation needs to be coordinated with your local power delivery company, to ensure the success of the project. At Right Touch Electrical, we are experts at main service relocation. We will work with the City Electrical Inspection Department and with the service consultant from your local energy delivery company (e.g. Center Point or Texas New Mexico Power), to properly engineer the successful service relocation.
We make certain there will be NO PROBLEMS when it’s time to reconnect.
